Overview
Science, technology and art form a synergistic whole in our group. The vignettes below provide some examples of our contributions to art exhibitions and exhibtions that were curated and organized by our team.
In 2022 we organized and curated a multimedia exhibition showing art works contributed by both artists and scientists. The works ranged from sound and video installations to interactive Virtual Reality performances and Augmented Reality content shown throughout the Vienna Bio Center Campus.

Our work The Nature of Systems was shown at the Ars Electronica Festival 2022. The art work combines a 3D Deep Space Video projection with a live performance. Central themes of the work are the emergence and breakdown of complex systems from the cellular to the planetary scale.

We showed our mixed reality exhibition The Shape of Things to Come during the Ars Electronica Festival 2022. The exhibition featured a variety of scenarios developed by artists and scientists of how they imagine, assess and influence our environment in the future.

We showed our video installation Entangled Realities at the Deep Space 8k during the Ars Electronica Festival 2021. The video installation investigates the diversity of complex systems that shape our human habitat.

Jörg took part at the Future Innovators Summit within the Ars Electronica Art Thinking School program. Future Innovators from different cultures and backgrounds and from different fields – such as artists, designers, scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, social activists and philosophers – explored new ways of collective brainstorming on the crucial questions for humanity, and to create future scenarios.

Our team presented our Virtual Reality platform during the Vienna ball of sciences 2020. The ball represents Vienna’s science and research community in its excellence and diversity. Typical elements of a Viennese Ball are combined with contributions from Vienna’s universities.

We showed our Virtual Reality platform during the GLOBART academy festival at the Essl museum in Klosterneuburg. GLOBART invited innovators, artist, activists and scientists to present their work, exchange ideas, and play an active part in transforming the museum into a lively space for creating the future.

Our Virtual Reality platform was featured at the Bodyscan exhibition in Munich. The exhibition organized by the Eres foundation featured more than 50 pieces exploring the human anatomy, ranging from historical models to contemporary works of art.

We presented a Virtual Reality art work at the exhibition Death or the Absolute Now at the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna. The exhibition featured art works offering different perspectives, interpretations and reflections on the concept of time and death.
